Task training · Part 46 & Part 48

Task training for the job they actually do

A miner who has never run a task needs training on that task before doing it, under both parts of the rule. We come to your mine, walk the task with the crew at the equipment, and leave you with the record MSHA asks for. Available to Part 46 surface operations and Part 48 coal, metal, nonmetal, and underground operations.

  • Part 46 · 30 CFR 46.7 task training for surface sand, gravel, and stone
  • Part 48 · 30 CFR 48.7 and 48.27 task training for coal, metal, nonmetal, and underground
  • Taught at the equipment or task site, one instructor for the crew, two days minimum
  • A task training record for every miner, ready for your file

On site

2-day minimum · $2,398

04 / Regulation check

Pick the regulation that covers your mine

Part 46 · surface aggregate / Part 48 · coal, metal, nonmetal, underground

The difference is in what you mine, not where you are. Sand, gravel, stone, and other surface aggregate operations fall under Part 46. Coal, metal, nonmetal, and underground operations fall under Part 48. Enrolling a crew in the wrong part is the most common recordkeeping problem we find.
